The Location – Armentarola
Green meadows as far as the eye can see – the perfect starting point for passionate cross country skiers
Armentarola is the abbreviation of Armentara and stands for a wonderful sunny and isolated position, lush meadows and green forests.
The location, moreover, has the same name as one of the most beautiful ski slopes and offers its guests an unforgettable panoramic view on the valley as well as on the breathtaking mountain peaks of the Lagazuoi. For those who are reaching us from Val Badia, it is only at one km from San Cassiano. If you are coming from the Falzarego Pass instead, you will better drive through Cortina d'Ampezzo, Passo del Giau or Livinallongo.
The restaurant, which once was an old barn, has been completely renovated and transformed into a wonderful private residence. Restaurant Pre' de Costa is very spacious and features also a sunny terrace as well as comfortable interior rooms. By reaching the restaurant through the long forest road, you will see it as a wonderful alpine hut embraced by untouched nature: the excellent positions also makes it a very popular place for hikers and nature lovers who – starting from San Cassiano – can walk up to Armentarola.
However, Restaurant Pre' de Costa is also the perfect starting point for passionate cross country skiers: indeed it is located on one of Alta Badia's most beautiful cross country routes: Sass Dlacia, Saré, Gran Ancëi, Scotoni, Setsass, Störes and Conturines. A total of 20 km featuring perfectly prepared slopes (two of them are reserved for athletes), suitable for every preparation level.
